Chaukhi dhani is famous for its Rajasthani food and its culture. People visit there to spend their evening, have fun with friends & family and enjoy the traditions of Rajasthan.
Here I would like to share my experience of visiting Chaukhi Dhani, Amaravati enclave, Panchkula.
We reached there at 7pm, they have good parking space and you can easily park your vehicle. They welcome you with dhol and tilak.
At ticket counter they have two types of tickets with different prices INR 1200 and INR 900. The difference they mentioned that one with the cheaper priced ticket will include only Rajasthani food. The higher price has 2-3 north Indian dishes included additional i.e. Dal Makhani, Aaloo Gobhi, Kulfi and Bisleri water bottle. Though it didn’t make any sense to spend INR 300 more for just these items but as a majority of person’s choice and to explore something new we purchased 12 adult tickets for INR 14400. They did not offer any discount.
After entering inside the campus they serve you Jaljeera as a welcome drink and plain water. On the next stall they offered Noodles and Kachori Curry. It was good in taste.
Moving further we saw some traditional activities like a magician engaging kids with his magic tricks, folk dance, folk songs. You can sit there and enjoy these activities.
There are a few games available in the campus which i.e. shoot balloon, basketball, rolling balls, dart, trampoline and a few more. All these games are paid and kids get attracted to these games and you are forced to spend money on these games.
While roaming around in the open ground you feel thirsty and there is no drinking water available. You have to go back to the entrance for the water and that is not a cool water. You take it as there are no other options. People feel very hot after roaming and try to find some cool things and there is an ice ball (Burf ka Golla) you find which is paid.
After spending around 2 hours you approach to dinner hall. They set timing for dinner as 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm and 11pm. We got to know that for higher price ticket they have a separate dining hall with table and chairs. We did not find that much comfortable because that doesn’t look traditional Rajasthani atmosphere for which you came there. So we refused to sit there and asked them to allow us to sit at lower price ticket area to enjoy food. Here people will sit on the ground for the dinner which really satisfy you. Food was not warm enough but the taste was good.
The place is good for friends and family to have fun, take pictures and kids enjoy in the paid games.
Overall its good but the ticket is heavily overpriced, no cleanliness no hygiene, staff is more interested in tips.
